Master Scuba Diver

The coveted Master Scuba Diver rating is the highest rating achievable by a PADI recreational diver. It is the black belt of diving certifications. Master Scuba Divers are well trained divers with a lot of experience in a variety of conditions. Many Divemasters also choose to compliment their professional rating with the glamour of a Master Scuba Diver certification. Unlike other PADI programmes the Master Scuba Diver rating is not a particular programme, instead it rewards divers who have worked to gain experience and who have completed specialised training.

How do I get it?

Once you've completed your Open Water course you need to set yourself a few goals in order to become a Master Scuba Diver. Here's what you'll need:

• Your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification*
• Your PADI Rescue Diver certification*
• Log 50 dives
• Any five PADI Specialty course certifications
  * or a qualifying certification from another organization.
