How to get to Killary

To get to Killary, there are two possible routes to choose from, Dublin/Galway or Dublin/Westport. We recommend the Westport road as the preferable choice. For a detailed route map and directions click here.

Westport - Leenane:
From Westport headout the Clifden road. Follow the road straight through Knappagh, Liscarney, and Carrowkennedy and onto Leenane. The journey is about 25 miles.

Galway - Leenane:
From Galway head out the Clifden/Moycullen (N59) road. Going straight through Moycullen and then to Oughterard. Follow the road to left towards the church and over the hump-back bridge. Continue on another 10 miles to Maam Cross (Peacock's hotel/shop/petrol station). Take a right at the crossroads, and on to Maam. Left here and about 7 miles on you'll enter Leenane. In Leenane keep left, direction Clifden, and the new K2 - Killary Centre building is on your left after another 4 miles.

Leenane - Sleepzone Connemara and K2:
The distance from Leenane to Sleepzone is approx 5 kilometers. Go through Leenane, following on the road along the coast (signposted Kylemore Abbey), with the sea to your right. Head up the hill until you see the Killary Adventure Centre, K2, on the left. Sleepzone is down the small laneway to the right before K2 (it's signposted). Sleepzone is marked as Killary Lodge on our map.
