Nothing compares to that magical feeling when you take your first breath underwater! Discover Scuba allows you to experience the thrill of diving in the safety and comfort of a heated pool and you'll will be amazed just how easy it is. Within a short time you will be gliding through the water with no effort and wondering why you didn't try it years ago!
Discover Scuba is run over a single evening and is designed to allow you to have fun underwater while understanding the basics of safety and technique.Your instructor will start with a brief classroom session where you watch a video and get acquainted with the equipment you'll be using. Having selected all your gear, you begin the pool session in the shallow end where we show you how to fit your mask and practice breathing from the regulator. Once your ready, its' time to take that first breath underwater, all this happens in the shallow end so you can gain confidence quickly. You'll be amazed how easy it is to breath and move, in no time you will be gliding effortlessly below the surface.
Virtually anyone who is in good health and comfortable in the water can participate in a PADI Discover Scuba session. You will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire on the night to ensure your safety. If you have any questions contact our office who can send you the questionnaire in advance for your doctor to look over. The programme is suitable for all age groups from ten years upwards.
We supply you with all the diving equipment required for the pool session. At Oceandivers we believe that providing the best equipment to all students not only improves the safety of our programmes but also improves your comfort and enjoyment in the water. All items are regularly maintained and we replace all equipment every twelve months. All you will need to bring are swim suit and towel, we provide the rest.

We run Discover Scuba sessions on most Tuesday evenings in the National Aquatic Centre, Blanchardstown and most Wednesday evenings in Glenalbyn Sports Centre in Stillorgan. Both starting at 8 pm. We can also offer the programme for groups at different times subject to availability of pool time.
